What is Naturopathic Medicine?
Naturopathic medicine is a system of primary & specialized healthcare which is rooted in patient empowerment and patient-centered care. Naturopathic medicine blends together a wide variety of therapeutic modalities including pharmaceutical management, herbal medicine, diet & lifestyle support, therapeutic supplementation, hands on therapies, and much more. In the state of Washington, Naturopathic Physicians are licensed primary care physicians with a complete scope of practice to prescribe medications, run labs/imaging, refer to specialists, as well as diagnose and treat disease. Naturopathic medicine focuses on supporting patients with preventing and treating illness as well as optimizing their health on all levels.
Naturopathic medicine is an evidence-based field of medicine that works to view people as whole beings, whose medical needs stem from multiple levels of dis-ease, that require treatment from the same multi-level viewpoint. Naturopathic medicine prioritizes healing in the physical body as well as the mental and energetic bodies as well. Naturopathic physicians seek to find the root cause of disease and support patient’s bodies in their inherent ability to self-heal while meeting the severity of symptoms & disease to the intensity of treatment employed.

Direct Primary Care
At Radiance Naturopathic, we offer primary care through a Direct Primary Care model. This means that instead of billing insurance for routine medical visits, care is provided through transparent, time-of-service pricing.
This approach allows us to focus on what matters most; delivering thoughtful, personalized medical care without the restrictions often created by insurance billing.
Traditional insurance-based systems frequently limit the amount of time providers can spend with patients and restrict the number of concerns address each visit based on billing requirements. By practicing outside of these constraints, our physicians are able to spend more time listening, investigating the root cause of your symptoms, and developing individualized treatment plans.
The Direct Primary Care model allows us to provide:
• Longer appointment times
• More personalized care and follow-up
• Transparent pricing without unexpected bills
• Greater flexibility in what we address visit to visit
While we do not bill insurance for visits, many patients are still able to use insurance for laboratory testing, imaging, medications, and specialist care when needed.
Our goal is to create a healthcare experience that prioritizes time, transparency, and a deeper patient-doctor relationship, allowing us to provide the level of care that modern healthcare systems often struggle to deliver.

To make healthcare simpler and more convenient, many services can be provided directly within our clinic. From in-house blood draws and acute care visits to hands-on therapies and diagnostic testing, our goal is to provide efficient, coordinated care while minimizing the need for multiple appointments or outside referrals whenever possible.

What Type of Patient's Do You See?
Our providers see patients of all ages, stages of life, gender identities, and backgrounds. We welcome individuals and families seeking personalized, whole-person care that considers the unique needs of each person.
Whether you’re looking for support with a specific health concern, navigating a transition in your health or life, or simply want to feel more connected to your overall well-being, we’re here to meet you where you are.
Special Considerations
- Pediatrics - We welcome pediatric patients for specialty care needs. We do not provide primary care services to pediatric patients (well child visits, routine vaccinations, etc.) but are always happy to support your child with a variety of needs including acute care and management for chronic conditions.
- Pregnancy - We are happy to see you for care during your pregnancy. While Naturopathic Physicians in the state of Washington are not able to manage pregnancy itself, we are happy to provide adjunctive care for other health needs you have outside of your pregnancy. We do require all pregnant patients to have active care with an OBGYN or Midwife while receiving care from our providers.

As Naturopathic Physicians, we have extensive training in a wide variety of diseases. What Can I Expect From My First Visit?
Your first visit is a 90-minute, one-on-one appointment with your provider, giving you dedicated time to share your health history, concerns, and goals without feeling rushed.
Together, we’ll take an in-depth look at your health history and discuss the foundational factors that influence your well-being, including nutrition, movement, stress, sleep, and other aspects of your daily life. When appropriate, your provider will also perform a hands-on physical exam based on your individual needs.
Before you leave, we will review our recommendations and discuss next steps so that you have a clear understanding of your personalized plan moving forward.
If laboratory testing is indicated, blood work can be collected during your visit and is included within your scheduled appointment time. If fasting labs are needed, we’ll arrange for you to return at another time for your blood draw.
How Do Your Providers Approach Treatment?
At Radiance Naturopathic, we view our patients as partners in their care. We take the time to understand your goals, preferences, and what feels right for you when it comes to options for treatment. Our providers pair this with their clinical expertise to recommend the options they believe will serve you best. Our providers are open-minded and will always explain their reasoning, so you can make informed decisions about your care with confidence.

Do You Offer Primary Care Services?
Yes! In WA state, NDs are licensed as Primary Care Doctors, and we would be honored to take on this role for you. We are here to support your with your primary care needs including:
- Annual Wellness Exams
- Annual Screening Exams (Pap Smears, referrals for mammograms, colonoscopy, DEXA scan, etc.)
- Annual Screening Blood Work
- Medication Management
- Acute Care Visits for Injury or Illness
Do You Accept Insurance?
We are not currently in network with any commercial insurance companies.
After years of working in insurance based clinic models, our providers ultimately decided it was in our patients best interest to not be limited by what the insurance model would allow us to provide. We did not want our patients to be limited to 30 min visits which allowed for only 1 concern to be addressed at a time. We did not want our patients to get bills months after their visit for hundreds of dollars, because their insurance provider decided to deny the claim for their visit.
We want to be able to provide our patients with the highest level of care possible, and are committed to having financial transparency for all visits and services provided. In addition to transparent pricing for our visits, we are also proud to be able to provide patients facing financial hardship with reduced rates or alternative payment plans for all visits and services we offer.
We are always happy to provide you with a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement from your insurance provider. However, we do not guarantee any reimbursement will be provided and do not take any financial responsibility if reimbursement is not achieved.
How Much Will My Visit/Service Cost?
At Radiance Naturopathic, we firmly believe in complete transparency regarding the cost for the care you receive. Unlike insurance based models, in which we don't have control over how much your insurance will ultimately ask you to pay for your visit, we can provide you with a clear roadmap for exactly how much your visit(s) will cost, even before your visit has occured. We pride ourselves on having no hidden fees or extra costs including those commonly accrued in small clinics such as fees for blood draws, up-charging on supplements, and extra costs for more complex concerns being discussed during your visit.
